I Can Be Wrong, Too

May 6th, 2020

I think it’s good to admit when we are wrong about something. So, allow me to do so.

I just watched one of those videos that exposes the “truth” about what’s “really” going on out there. It made some dubious claims, the people involved were mysterious themselves, but it made a few good points, too. It didn’t change my life in any significant way, but I did do something after I viewed it.

I took the “Stay Home” banner off my profile picture. It seems small, but let me explain why.

Do I still believe we’re doing the right thing? I do. I think, with all the uncertainties about the pandemic, that what we’re doing is effective and the safest way of dealing with a violently erratic variable: people.

But do you know what that “Stay Home” banner was? It was a stance. One thing I do agree with is that a certain set of people benefit when we’re divided. No doubt that is true. And we all live in the same world, presented with the same material; having a hard position on what you decide is right for yourself is not who I want to be.

So, if I came across that way, I’m sorry. I really want to believe that we’re in this together, and telling you what to do is not a way to do that. The news that we watch can’t be completely true; conversely, those of you “digging for the real truth” and espousing that your dug up truth is 100% true, and that we are all sheep, are part of the problem, too. You’re just as much creating the kind of division they gain from. Remember that.

Anyway, I love you all. Be kind. Be aware and don’t be afraid to think and feel for yourself.

This is a picture of my face covered in peanut butter. You’re welcome.

I'm me, of course. Or am I?

  1. Peanut butter is not my first choice of a facemask, but these days people put banana and avocado on their face, so it might just work πŸ˜‰

I can see you like doodling/drawing as well, so I had to follow! πŸ˜€

    1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I used the peanut butter to try to distract my dog so we could clip her nails, and it didn’t work! The video is pretty great, though. And my skin neither improved or got worse with peanut butter, so maybe I’m on to something!

      1. A Boston Terrier named Marvel! I regularly talk about her or use photos with her in them (you can see them if you scroll through my posts). She’s MY LIFE.

      2. I petted a dog like that today, but I thought it was a French bulldog. The look a bit alike to me.
I looked at Marvel. What a beautiful creature! She seems quite young. Is she?

      3. Oh, I get asked all the time if she’s a Frenchie. They do look similar. Marvel is going to be four(!) this summer! I hope she stays forever young!

Someone like Marvel would definitely on my list! πŸ˜„

      5. She’s the best dog. Bostons in general are just very good dogs; they’re so smart and sweet and expressive. Too bad your place doesn’t allow pets! 😭

      6. I believe that!
I am actually in the process of preparing a salt water aquarium. It’s quite a long process, but hopefully next week the first 2 clownfish (Nemo) can enter their new home!
I am really looking forward for their arrival 😊

      7. That’s super cool! I have no experience with fish, but I love aquatic life. There’s something very calming and tranquil about a swimming presence. 🐟

      8. It really is.
I used to have a fresh water aquarium. The fish are a little bit less colorful, but since they were smaller, you could have a lot more. I had about 50 of them.
I could easily spend an hour just watching them πŸ™‚

      9. Is 50 a lot of fish? I feel like that’s a lot of fish! I could definitely look at them for a long time. Like Christmas lights. I’m sure that’s why waiting rooms install aquariums. To help people peacefully pass the time.

      10. It was a large aquarium.
50 is quite some, but I must say the Black Molly occupied nearly half of that space.
Started off with 2, half a year later, there were about 20!
I swear, those fish have no shame πŸ˜…

(Also, sorry for spamming all over your comment section πŸ˜…)

      11. We’re the only two here, so it’s definitely not spam. πŸ˜‚ And it’s crazy how fast those few fish can become a boatload. My one puppy cannot clone herself, and for that I am grateful!

      13. She definitely gets a lot of attention; we just recently got her spayed because we were worried about that kind of attention! She was a *huge* fan of that cone. πŸ˜‚
