April 13th, 2022 I did the math. If I live as long as my mom did, I already hit middle age at 29. I think about hills. What it’s like to get to the top of one and then roll, fantastically, without fear, down the other side. It’s what I should be doing. Hands upContinue reading “Second Act”

Kicked To Death By Rabbits
April 4th, 2022 A few years ago I did an escape room on my birthday. It was designed to look like the interior of a spaceship. I looked up photos of the room online and spent weeks getting excited for it. When we arrived and my group finally got inside, the room was tiny. IContinue reading “Kicked To Death By Rabbits”
Artist 2 Artist: A Conversation w/ Steven Starks Jr, Dennis Vogen & Spicy Chicken Nuggies
March 31st, 2022 Over a dazzling array of a dozen varieties of Desert Fire hot sauce, Steven Starks Jr. and Dennis Vogen have an artist-on-artist chat about what inspired them to create, what makes them tick now, and what they’re doing next. Steven is known for his musical career, playing with bands like Aeous andContinue reading “Artist 2 Artist: A Conversation w/ Steven Starks Jr, Dennis Vogen & Spicy Chicken Nuggies”
An Infinite Series of Quantum Give-Ups
March 31st, 2022 Okay, this is the post where I get all mushy, and then it’s back on the sarcasm train, full speed ahead. I give up a lot. “But,” you interject, “you’ve made so many things! A person who gives up would not have so much to show for it!” It’s a lot ofContinue reading “An Infinite Series of Quantum Give-Ups”
WE DID IT! Fire & Ice = Success!
March 26th, 2022 YAHOOOO!! Hey, kids!! WE DID IT!! Overnight — not by magic, but by your very intentional support — we surpassed our Kickstarter goal of $2,000! That means that I have the funds to publish not one, but two incredibly special books this summer: Cold World, and Brushfire. Thank you. From deep withinContinue reading “WE DID IT! Fire & Ice = Success!”
[Clone] War & [Clone] Peace
March 24th, 2022 I freaking love Star Wars. Always have. There is, to me, no such thing as bad Star Wars. I’m not of the original generation of fans (because they are old and I so clearly am not), so it always existed in a peripheral way to me until the Special Editions were releasedContinue reading “[Clone] War & [Clone] Peace”
a small word
March 23rd, 2022 Last night, I got to take part in a really special interview/conversation (hopefully I can share details soon!). The fun part of interviews is that it doesn’t matter how much you prepare; you don’t know what someone is going to ask you, and you never know what you’re going to say untilContinue reading “a small word”
Black Like Gold
March 16th, 2022 I’ve been trying to talk this idea out for a while now, but I should just try to write it down. Because I am an absolute idiot when I talk, and I am slightly less an idiot when I do not. So very slightly. There’s this oft-repeated warning about good people; it’sContinue reading “Black Like Gold”
Look Who I Ran Into!
March 14th, 2022 I just ran into my buddy, Bay, and he says hi! He’s wondering, too, if you have any chips. He also can’t believe we’ve already raised 54% of Fire & Ice — almost $1,100 — to tell his story. He actually got teary-eyed as I told him how excited people are toContinue reading “Look Who I Ran Into!”
Fire & Ice Is a Renewable Resource!
March 9th, 2022 DID YOU KNOW? For less than the price of half a tank of gas, you can support my work and get my upcoming books? PLUS: my books can not only take you to new locations, but they can transport you through time! How’s that for fuel efficient? DID YOU ALSO KNOW? OneContinue reading “Fire & Ice Is a Renewable Resource!”
